Das grosse Museum
Austrian documentary, 94 min, 2014
German with Hungarian Subtitles

Directed by: Johannes Holzhausen

The unique, witty documentary of the Austrian Johannes Holzhausen follows the renovation of the Fine Art Museum in Vienna. The director managed to show the incredibly rich collection of the museum, while delving into the everyday petty problems of the management, as they are trying to revamp the institution's image in the ever changing modern world. The film offers a rare insight into the luxury of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy, the historical style of te court. At the same time, it also shows the professional way of handling, displaying and promoting our historical treasures.
